Ricardo Bartis Chooses a sport as an excuse to make questions about Argentne history.In his previus play,La Pesca, he discussed on Peronism and its cultural incidence.In El Box, a show especially commissioned to re-inaugurate the Colón Theatre´s Centre of Experimentation on the ocasion of the bicentennial, he debates several national projects.There is violence,confusion, and there are great expectations and lack of organization.In an old gym, María Amelia "La Piñata" prepares her anniversary party.Her husband doesn´t agree with her intention of launching a big fest.They hire "El Tatú" and "El Torito" to box during the party.The host is let down:none of the guests has shiown up.Drunk, hurt,she admits defeat.An old friend,Otamendi, and two college girls, Delia and Noemí, try to cheer María Amelia up.
